Fiction If you are a beginning writer, you will not sell a novel by proposal. You must complete the book before you can approach a publisher. Many novels are left unfinished because their author reaches what I call the “muddle in the middle.” Others are completed, but rejected over and over again leaving the baffled author to wonder how to correct the problems.
